Best fun I've had with a workout video game in a long time!,
by Sunshine Girl, 2010-03-21

I don't write very many product reviews, but I just had to come back and say that this is the best workout video game that I've used in a long time. The music is upbeat. The workouts can be customized so that you can have as much, or as little intensity as you'd like. I'm even enjoying keeping up with my stats and progress. For those of you that play the Sims, mainly the Sims 3, the fitness trainers and avatars are very reminiscent of those familiar little pixels.

For those of you worried about getting bored. I am not a novice when it comes to working out and get bored easily as well. I've done Pilates, Yoga, aerobics/cardio classes for years. I ride my bike often and have tons of workout DVD's that I rotate between. Yet, I still find this one so much fun to come back to. I also love the fact that it can be used with the Wii board (which is good, because I'm just about tired of using the Wii Fit Plus with it).

There are 24 existing workouts (varying in intensity). As mentioned before you can create custom workouts. Which I've found a lot more useful. There is also the 6 week challenge, where you are given certain workouts based on certain days. You are allowed 3 rest days per week and 4 workout days per week (based on your choosing).

The real surprise has been having my teenage daughter approach me to "workout". The 'workout with a friend' feature makes working out with this game even more fun. My very athletic husband, who normally snubs these kinds of workouts, has even taken an interest...lol.

If you want to feel energetic without feeling like you've just been smacked into a wall, I would recommend this game. I easily manage working out for a minumum of an hour using this (sweating like crazy doesn't even make me want to stop). Whereas, with my other games and DVD's, I'm watching the clock after 20 minutes or so.

Great work out,
by Megs, 2010-03-19

For someone who is fit and just needs a quick 20 to 30 minute workout when the child is napping this is perfect. It targets my lower body a ton. You can choose the intensity like the 1st version. I like this one better though since it incorporates more ab work and a warm up and cool down. Love this product!!!!

Great workout , but Annoying as heck!,
by L. Lawson, 2010-03-17

Okay, this is a great workout and could have been a great idea if it were not for the annoying thigh strap (which holds the nunchuck) I had to keep stopping and pulling the dang thing back up on my thigh as it repeatedly keeps sliding down.. and also the nunchuck is hard to insert back in the holster, which is required to take in and out again and again. If it were not for these unavoidable hassles it would be a fun to use every day, but mine is back in the box where it will most likely stay.

You will get your $40 worth,
by Amazonfan, 2010-03-16

Having completed the first EA Active 30 day challenge, I decided to try out the "More Workouts" version. EA did address many of the issues I had with the first one such as making the routines a little more balanced, adding warm up and cool down exercises plus exercises targeting abs. However, there is only one warm up and one cool down segment and only 3 ab exercises, this gets a bit old after a couple of times. Also, this game is hard on the knees and upper front leg muscles, EA needs to hire developers who know that there are other lower body exercises than lunges, squats, and jumps. Another feature I would like is the ability to switch out an exercise before you begin the daily challenge, right now it only lets you delete it not replace it. Another issue, though no real fault of EA, is using the WII remotes, they can actually making some of the exercices near impossible to do since the tether cord gets in the way or there are times when they are just not responsive enough for the activity at hand. In closing this product and the first EA Active are great for what they cost and will help to get you motivated, just keep in mind that this will only tone your body if you want anything more, then I would recommend hiring a real trainer.

Best Wii Workout,
by Fatema Hadroom, 2010-03-14

I've tried so many Wii workout programs and this is the best by far, their first edition of EA Sports Active was missing the warm ups and cool down workouts. This edition has a nice variety of additional workouts and games that will keep you hocked. I like it because it gives me warm ups, cardio, resistance strength training, all body workouts and cool downs. I'm enjoying it and the results are great, I'm losing weight and toning beautifully.
