Hussain Sajwani, a UAE National and Founder of DAMAC Properties

Hussain Sajwani is the founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of DAMAC Properties. Sajwani has also served as a board member of several institutions such as JUNO Online based in New York City, Emirates Takaful Company located in Abu Dhabi, and the Majan University College situated in Muscat Oman.


Hussain Sajwani’s Career Background

Hussain obtained a B.S in Industrial Engineering and Economics from the University of Washington. After graduation, he kick-started his career at GASCO as a Contracts Manager. GASCO is Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s(ADNOC) subsidiary. From here, he set up a catering business venture in 1982. Over the years, the catering business has successfully grown and manages over 200 projects to serve approximately 150,000 meals in the Middle East and African market. The division also specializes in the service of army camps, construction campsites, educational institution, and five-star hotels as well as manpower, camp management, and maintenance supply.


In 2002, Hussain Sajwani shifted his focus towards the real estate industry and founded DAMAC Properties. However, the company still incorporates aspects of his food business in its operations. The Damac Owner considers Turkey, Saudia Arabia, and Egypt as possible prospects for business expansion. Another area of interest for Sajwani is in Amana Building Materials which is situated in Oman and represents popular names such as Grohe, Dorn Bracht, and Villeroy & Boch. Mr. Sajwani also has a tile manufacturing company known as Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Company.



In 2002, Hussain Sajwani established DAMAC which has completed 8890 units to date. Some of the prestigious projects that the company has undertaken are in cities like Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Amman, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Beirut, and London. Currently, DAMAC is a leading property development company in the Middle East region.


Sajwani uses his expertise in the marketing, legal sales, administration, and finance field to successfully drive the business. Hussain Sajwani’s primary goal is to enhance his engagements with Donald Rump’s real estate firm. On New Year’s Eve, Sajwani was listed as one of the prominent people by Mr. Trump.


Hussain Sajwani family supports and participates in various active charitable foundations. For example, in 2013, he funded the AED’s campaign with two million dollars in order to provide clothing for children across the globe. The donations aim at improving the living standards of children as well as encourage them to take on entrepreneurship as a career path.
